Venice and its history tell us of a red-colored past. From the flag of the Serenissima Republic, to patrician noble garments, to the great works of the masters of the Venetian pictorial art – red represents a recurring motif in the life of the lagoon city.
A sign of a social distinction and power but also an expression of a particular artistic sensibility, this color has became part of the culture of the city to the point of making people talk about a real “Venetian red” color.

If in particular the cultural world of Venice is inextricably linked to this color, it is easy to think that this scarlet red, this “Venetian red”, has somehow also dyed the music of the Serenissima of its aesthetic values giving to the Venetian art in genre, especially to music, that distinctive character that made it so important and influential in its time.
